Fall 2021 | ARCH 205 - Architecture Design I | Professor Shawn Lutz | Rhino, Illustrator, Physical Model
This project explored the manipulation of 3D forms through the use of boolean operations and various other functions. Throughout the process, color, presentation, positive and negative space, and basic materiality were also studied. The final model includes a cave-like space that does not feel boxed in, but is more secure due to the multiple elements shadowing the interior. William Eggleston’s work, Untitled, served as inspiration for the color choices. The broad range of colors within the art provided for high and low lights of both the exterior and interior surfaces, as well as contrasting colors for patterns. White edges were used in order to set apart the surfaces and create balance from the darker colors.
